The General Assistance Advocacy Project’s mission is to provide education, empowerment and advocacy to those who need it most. GAAP serves over 2,000 homeless and marginally housed San Franciscans each month by helping them obtain and retain the public benefits to which they are entitled.

Get involved by volunteering with GAAP today. GAAP’s volunteer program offers a unique opportunity for students and community members to make a difference. We are always looking for enthusiastic and dedicated individuals to help us serve clients at our drop-in clinic.

GAAP relies on its generous community of donors to provide free legal assistance and counseling to those most in need. Your tax-deductible donation makes a difference. Help us continue to provide essential services and support to over 2,000 clients a year by donating today.

Bill Hart, GAAP's long-serving executive director passed away in November 2010 after suffering a heart attack. During GAAP's 25 years of service to the community, no one has exemplified a commitment to our core values of zealous advocacy and client empowerment more than Bill.
